On their very last day in Puerto Vallarta, the Janice Tooby MacDonald dancers visited CASA HOGAR, and charmed their audience once again, this time maybe more than ever.  The young residents of this shelter for homeless and abused children were a rapt audience and even the youngest sat in awe for the entire presentation.

ANDALE…….LET THE SHOW BEGIN!

The Canadian children put a great deal of thought into the gifts that they brought for the CASA HOGAR, the selection was incredible, crayons and coloring books, small stuffed toys and games not to mention the 14 basketballs and so much more.  Unfortunately, to prevent total chaos, all that could be presented at the time was an enormous

supply of red licorice.  This is a very foreign treat in Mexico, it is not available anywhere, the usual sweet is made of natural fruit and coated with the inevitable...Chili. But, several kilos of red licorice was consumed  and there were certainly no complaints.

The programme was delightfully casual, tap numbers in sneakers and so on. This was probably a breath of fresh air for Janice and the girls...and Justin compared to what they are accustomed to, but noone noticed and the dancers were loved by all.  (Actually Marsha's daughter Kia had a marriage proposal but she is still too young herself to appreciate younger men).

The finale was a surprise for all.  It was hoped that the CASA HOGAR children could be encouraged to get up and dance with the Canadian kidz.  (The latter were adorable and were so anxious to play with the orphans, even before the performance began).  So, little by little the orphans got up to dance and before long they whispered that they were a little tired of Ricky Martin and didn't we have the Backstreet Boys?

They proceeded to entertain all of us with some really good routines.  Nicole is trying her best to find time and is recruiting anyone that she knows can dance to visit the home once or twice a week with a stereo and…...just DANCE!

A MILLION thanks to Janice, Don and the Moms and Dads for their generosity and a special thanks to the Kidz for being so open and loving with this adorable group of needy children.  Please don't ever think that you cannot make a difference in the world.  You guys are
